Programme Overview

The conference will have 5 combined sessions revolving round the main theme "Globalization of Tropical Animal Diseases and Public Health Concerns".

The technical program includes plenary speakers, Invited keynote speakers, oral presenters and poster presentations. We would like to invite abstracts on the following topics, but are not limited to the topics listed:

A. Emerging, re-emerging animal and zoonotic diseases

This topic will consider factors that influence the emerging, re-emerging of animal and zoonotic diseases, as well as the diagnosis and control or eradication of these diseases. Particular attention will be given to the effect of climate change on the animal health. The contribution of veterinary and human medicine (One Health) to combat zoonotic diseases is also included in this topic.

B. Food and feed security and safety

This topic covers the various aspects of food and feed production, trade, utilization and all relevant processes in between that, ultimately determine the availability for food animal production and food safety. This includes environmental, energy, global financial and geo-political changes.

C. Veterinary education: quality assurance and accreditation

This topic covers quality assurance and accreditation of veterinary education at the national, regional and international levels, including curriculum development, pedagogic methods and assessments.

D. Aquatic animal diseases and aquaculture

This topic covers diseases in aquatic animals and good management practice in aquaculture.

E. Zoo, wildlife and exotic animal health and management

This topic deals with health and management practices pertaining to captive and non-captive wildlife and the keeping of exotic species as pets. Issues related to animal welfare, conservation, legal and illegal trades, breeding and use of wildlife will also be addressed.

F. Animal Health and Production (free topics)

For this topic only poster presentations can be accepted.
